Ortho Tri Cyclen is a medication used to regulate menstruation and pregnancy as well. This does not, however, protect a person from being infected by sexually transmitted disease.

Directions for Intake:

• Ortho Tri Cyclen is taken orally, as often as indicated in the prescription of your doctor
• Should be taken once a day and a particular time within the day must be chosen as the standard schedule for intake to make it easier to remember and avoid missing a dosage
• Finish the entire amount that was prescribed even after beginning to feel better
• In case of overdosing, seek medical attention immediately

Directions for Storage:

• Store this medication in a place away from moist, light and extreme heat
• The appropriate temperature for the storage area is between 59 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit or 15 to 30 degrees Celsius
• Also choose a storage area that is not easily accessible to children

Precautions:

• Consult your doctor before taking Ortho Tri Cyclen. Make sure to give your doctor a complete background of your medical history
• Smoking is highly discouraged among individuals who use Ortho Tri-Cyclen
• Inform your physician of any other prescription or over-the-counter medications that you’re currently taking, especially the following medications: antibiotics, seizure medications, rifamycins, chloramphenicol, benzodiazepines, thyroid hormone drugs, insulin, blood thinners or anticoagulants, tricyclic anti-depressants, and beta-blockers
• Inform your physician of any previous or present experience of having cancer, high predisposition to blood clotting, heart attack, stroke, kidney or liver problems, high blood pressure, asthma, seizures, migraine headaches, high cholesterol level, and melasma or darkening of the skin
• If you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant or lactating, consult your doctor before taking Ortho Tri Cyclen
