Ortho Evra Patch

Ortho Evra Patch is a hormone patch that is used to prevent pregnancy. It contains hormones that are similar to those found in birth control pills. Ortho Evra Patch, however, does not prevent possible infection caused by sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
Directions for Intake:
- Ortho Evra Patch is taken orally, as often as indicated in the prescription of your doctor
- Instruction for administration or use of Ortho Evra Patch is basically indicated in the product's Patient Information Leaflet
- usually applied in areas of the body such as the buttock, abdomen, upper outer arm, and upper body
- A patch should remain in the area where it is applied for seven days before being replaced
- Continuous use of the Ortho Evra Patch should be within a period of three weeks before refraining from using the patch for a week
Directions for Storage:
- Store this medication in a place away from moist, light and extreme heat
- The appropriate temperature for the storage area is between 59 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit or 15 to 30 degrees Celsius
- Also choose a storage area that is not easily accessible to children
Precautions:
- Consult your doctor before taking Ortho Evra Patch. Make sure to give your doctor a complete background of your medical history
- Inform your physician of any other prescription or over-the-counter medications that you’re currently taking, especially the following medications: anti-seizure drugs, HIV protease inhibitors, azoles (anti-fungals), rifampin, aspirin, morphine, ascorbic acid or vitamin C, and cyclosporine
- Inform your physician of any previous or present experience of having high blood pressure, heart diseases, diabetes, jaundice or yellowing of the eyes or skin, cancer, and high cholesterol level
- Cigarette smoking has been noted to increase the risk of having heart attacks, cardiovascular diseases and unnecessary blood clotting
- Should not be applied placed at the breast and surrounding areas, red, cut or irritated skin, and those that contain topical products
- If you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant or lactating, consult your doctor before taking Ortho Evra Patch
